Fibroblast at Body TLC ~ Formally known as Plasma Perfect lift

Fibroblast is a non-surgical treatment designed for use around the delicate eye area that utilizes the ionization of atmospheric gases to stimulate skin fibres to contract and tighten.

Fibroblast Treatment utilises Plasma, in physics, Plasma is an electrical conducting medium in which there are roughly equal numbers of positively and negatively charged particles, produced when the atoms in a gas become ionized. It is sometimes referred to as the fourth state of matter, distinct from the solid, liquid, and gaseous states.
You may be aware of this type of plasma when thinking of the suns surface and solar flares

What is plasma fibroblast treatment?

Plasma fibroblast treatment is a nonsurgical skin -tightening procedure that uses a high energy discharge to make a small wound in the skin. This can encourage cells known as fibroblasts to repair the skin and maintain firmness. Nonsurgical skin tightening is a relatively common procedure. Because plasma fibroblast therapy targets past the outermost layer of the skin, it can produce skin cell renewal, leading to a radiant complexion. The main benefit of fibroblasting is the skin-tightening effect it produces.

What areas are treated with Fibroblast?

  • Drooping Eye Lids

  • Dark Circles

  • Deep Eye Bags

  • Skin Laxity

  • 'Smokers' Lines

How does Fibroblast treatment work?

Plasma is a state of matter, an ionized gas consisting of positive ions and free electrons in proportions resulting in more or less no overall electric charge.  Plasma Perfect Lift is performed through the creation of minute spots in the treatment area, by utilizing the voltage in the air between the tip of the device and your skin, this stimulates an instant contraction and tightening of the skin fibers. Each of the spots is sublimates the superficial corneocytes without effect the basal laminae, without bleeding and without damage to the surrounding tissue; thus often being referred to as 'soft surgery'

What happens at the treatment appointment?

We offer FREE non committal consultations for all our treatments and therefore your suitability, medical history check and aftercare advice will have been assessed and explained to you prior to your treatment.
A consultation is highly encouraged in order to give you the time to ask any questions you may have regarding Fibroblast directly with your therapist. Following your consultation, you will have also been asked to leave a small deposit to secure your full treatment appointment.

Your appointment for treatment will last no more than 30 minutes however a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied 45minutes prior to this, in order to numb the area and make the treatment comfortable.
During this waiting time, a complimentary drink and snack will be offered to you. After the topical numbing has taken effect, treatment will commence.

After you are numb

Your therapist will cleanse your skin and prepare you to receive the Plasma fibroblast therapy.

The plasma is delivered using a pen-like device that discharges a high-frequency electric current to small areas of the skin.

The plasma tip doesn’t directly touch the skin, but instead releases a targeted current just above the skin. The hot current creates small holes, or micro-injuries, in the skin’s layer.

The thermal disruption, or heat damage, from plasma fibroblast therapy:

  • breaks down proteins in the skin

  • encourages tissue regeneration

  • stimulates fibroblast activity

  • causes tissue contraction (tightening)

You will not feel any sharp pain during treatment, but depending on the area you may feel some tingling or small twitches in the area.

The fibroblast treatment will leave small scab like dots in the treatment area.

Once the treatment is complete your therapist will apply a cool gel to help with heling and provide you with aftercare information. Depending on the area treated you may receive some products to take home.

Recovery

Once the procedure is completed, you can expect the small dots to scab over and fall off after about 1 week.

Over the next couple of weeks, as your skin heals, it should appear tighter and firmer.

Some people may see benefits from one treatment, while others may require three treatments before they see significant results - it will vary depending on the skin severity of concern and the clients age and health.

It is important that you do not scratch or pick these small scabs, as this increases risk of infection. The eye area is very delicate and therefore some swelling will occur, this can range from minor to extreme and we advise to prepare for the worst in order to make necessary arrangements. It is vital you do not drive yourself home following treatment.  Swelling in the treatment area will increase over the first days following treatment, often peaking at day 3.

We recommend taking several days off work following Plasma Treatment.

Despite the immediate side effects, Plasma Perfect Lift is the most effective non surgical eye lift treatment available, with significantly less downtime, cost and risk than the surgical alternative.

Results

Although you will have tightness immediately following treatment, you can then expect swelling to come in and distort this appearance, swelling can be severe in certain areas - such as around the eyes.

Results will continue to develop for up to 6 months due to the fact a thermo-damage healing response is triggered during the treatment.

Studies have proven results to last over a year, however no long term studies have been done to determine the true longevity - our clients seem to gain many multiples of years before they feel the need to retreat the same area.

As the Fibroblast creates a thermo-healing response within your skin. This causes the body to repair the area, create new collagen and elastin. The new collagen, unlike chemical filler, does not have a 'shelf life' instead it will last years and years before eventually losing it's strength due to age. The Fibroblast will therefore not prevent new lines or skin laxity forming but it will produce years off your current skin age with long term results.

AFTER TREATMENT

DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK!!!

  • Patient will experience a mild burning sensation immediately following any Fibroblast Lift treatment procedure. This is similar to sunburn which should resolve within a few hours. However, this depends upon your sensitivity tolerance and this discomfort may last longer. If you feel particularly uncomfortable, anti-inflammatories such as (Advil or Anti-Histamines) such as Benadryl is suggested. It is up to the individual to decide on self-medication.

  • As a natural healing response, it is usual for the treated area to become swollen, especially around the more delicate area such as the eyes.

  • Ice packs not only soothes but also helps the swelling. Recovery can vary depending on your natural rate of recovery. Most people find it only a few days.

  • In extreme cases (specifically if clients do not follow aftercare guidelines) the swelling can last several days longer and may interfere with vision if the treatment was performed in the eye area.

  • Initially after treatment and up to 3 days later, there may be occasional weeping. This is the natural healing response to the Fibroblast Lift procedure.

Fibroblast Treatment Healing:

  • Wash face with a mild cleanser like dove soap twice a day and apply healing ointment. Do this till the scabs have naturally fallen away, usually takes 4-7 days.

  • As the treated area begins to heal, you will notice the drying out process whereby a brown/black crust develops on the surface of the skin. This will flake off after a few days but in some cases can take up to 10 days.

  • DO NOT PICK !!!! – The crusting as it can lead to infection or scarring. It is important to keep this area clean.

  • It is strongly advised that you use sunscreen SPF 30-50 sunscreen (throughout the year including the colder months) to avoid sunburn, as the area’s sensitivity to sunlight will be heightened for up to 3-4 months post Fibroblast Lift procedure. You may end u with Hyperpigmentation if you do not strictly follow this advice.

  • Boiled lukewarm water is best for cleaning the treated area.

  • DO NOT use alcohol based cleansers as this will slow down the healing process.

  • If at any time the treated area (s) become too hot, red or show signs of pus, please contact us or your doctor for advice as you may be developing an infection.

  • It is important that these crust are not removed (never scratch, otherwise a scar may form). Instead, twice daily in the morning and in the evening, carefully clean the areas, then disinfect it with distilled water spray and gently dab with a clean, lint-free cloth. Then apply the provided gel twice daily.

  • After the natural, unaided peeling of the scab crusts (typically after 4-7 days), pink/red skin is visible.

  • Swimming and Sauna are only permitted 3 weeks after procedure and once all the crusts have naturally fallen off the skin surface and is completely healed and closed.

  • Smokers may experience a significant worsening of the blood flow, which increases the risk of wound healing and/or slowed healing.

  • Note that after the crusts are lost a slight redness may remain in the treated area in the weeks or months that follow. It takes 4-6 weeks (sometimes longer) until the skin has reached it’s normal colour again.

  • Follow up treatment will not be before 8 weeks from the first treatment date. Typically we like to allow 12 weeks to review your improved skin. That said, if you do have any concerns, we welcome you to return for a complimentary check at any time.
