How does it work:

Diamond tip microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive treatment that professionally exfoliates the skin by removing dead, uneven layers of skin. This method of microdermabrasion uses a diamond tipped instrument to lightly abrade the top layers of skin and bring new, radiant skin to the surface.

Pre-care

Clients must not have:

• Had any retinol treatment or product in the 2-3 days prior,

• Had a chemical peel in the 2-3 weeks prior,

• Sun burned skin.

• Recently waxed the area to be treated.

Not Recommended For:

 

Diamond tip microdermabrasion is not recommended for candidates with active skin conditions like rosacea, eczema, dermatitis, sunburn, herpes, lupus, open sores, psoriasis, fragile capillaries or widespread acne as treatment could worsen the issue. If you have a small area of skin that fits once of these categories, it may be able to have treatment, simply avoiding the patch.

 

Side Effects:

Side effects are typically no more than mild erythema lasting from 1 to 24 hrs. Very rare side effects may include bruising which may last several days and skin sensitivity when DMD is performed extensively for intense conditions such as scar treatment and deep pigmentation.

 

Post Care

Wear sun screen, no saunas, swimming or excessive sweating for 48 hours

Be mindful of perfumes or lotions for 24hours post treatment.

You may be aware than there is a crystal form of Microdermabrasion. This version left messy residue and was difficult to remove fully – leaving crystals blown into the ears and hairline, due to this we were unable to treat near the sensitive areas.

 

Diamond Microdermabrasion came as a development from this popular but messy treatment, DMD can be used closer to the eyes, nose, mouth and ears than ever before.

 

The diamond tips—together with the strong suction—make it possible to exfoliate the skin more thoroughly than other exfoliating procedures.

 

With the flexibility of using different suction levels, it also increases blood flow to the skin, and that in turn helps to produce collagen.

How Does it Work?

High Pressured water is mechanically carried towards the skin in a machine similar to the DMD, Special tips help vortex it into the pores and suction through the wand applicator  removes the dirty water and any debris away from the skin.

At the end of treatment you can see the container with the debris and used water – it can be shocking how much can be removed!
