Dermapen is a versatile facial, so what are the benefits?

  • Improves fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Improves collagen production.

  • Skin tightening.

  • Skin rejuvenation.

  • Reduces pore size.

  • Reduces the appearance of Scars.

  • Aids topical solution penetration to the skin.

What will happen during my treatment?

During your treatment, your skin will be cleansed.

The standard Dermapen treatment consists of your face and neck, other areas maybe available upon request - any area can be treated.

After a thorough cleanse and skin consideration, a sterile cartridge will be selected to suit your need, alongside a suitable serum.  Your therapist will begin on a lower speed setting, working in small circles across the skin, once you are comfortable with the sensation the Dermapen motor will increase. Increasing the microneedle penetration. The treatment area is split into sections. Each section is worked on for several minutes. The treatment is completed with a second cleanse and short facial massage.

What does the treatment feel like?

The Dermapen is a comfortable sensation, similar to that of a deep exfoliation.

SCAR REJUVENTATION

At Body TLC we have a few options for scar treatment, from the mild acne pitting marks to deep surgical scars. It is best to seek a free consultation if you are unsure which method will work best for you.

The Dermapen is a great option for those who desire gradual regeneration with very little downtime and a low treatment cost.

STRETCH MARKS

Dermapen can treat most parts of the body including stomach, legs and breasts. Treatment time depends on the size of the stretch marks and can take up to 90 minutes.

For large areas such stretch marks caused by pregnancy we recommend up to 10 treatments 4-6 weeks apart.

ACNE SCARS

Dermapen is for ideal for acne scarring. It can achieve similar results to ablative treatments such as IPL/ Diode Skin Rejuvenation, Laser Resurfacing and Chemical Peels, without the negative side effects and downtime.  We recommend 5-10 treatments 6 weeks apart for maximum results. (for all versions of scarring the Dermapen needs to be deeper to achieve comparative results)

SKIN REJUVENATION

Dermapen is effective for wrinkle reduction, skin tightening and reducing sun damage. Improvement in skin tone and the reduction of large facial pores are noticeable after just one session. For best results we recommend 4-6 treatments 4 weeks apart.

Scar tissue will never be normal skin. This is not possible.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DERMAPEN AND DERMA ROLLER?

Unlike the Dermal Roller, the penetration depth of the needles can be altered from 0.2 – 2.5mm

You can also treat different areas at different depths to really tailor the treatment to your skin.

Dermapen can also reach more areas then the Derma Roller and being motorised leaves you with a more even treatment.

Better results are also achieved due the needles going straight up and down leaving neater, more consistent micro tears.

The dermal roller rolls over the skin leaving larger uneven trenches which can lead to larger pores.

Post Treatment & Aftercare

You may experience some redness immediately following your procedure typically this fades with hours.

Deeper treatment for scars and stretchmarks may result in more lasting redness fading over 24-72 hours.

Skin will feel tight and mildly tender for 24-48 hours.

It is important that you protect your skin from the sun and avoid exposure

We also advise a fresh pillow case on your bed following treatment (for facial treatment) clean bedding and clothing when the treatment area is elsewhere.

You will be provided with detailed aftercare at your appointment.
